Carina Voges opened the doors of Train the Brain in October 2009 as a home-based tuition and assessment centre for children with learning disabilities .We started with 3 students and 2 teachers.

Train the Brain outgrew Carina’s home in March 2015 when we had, with a staff of 10 teachers and teacher-aides, almost 90 students per week.  The centre then moved to larger premises at St Michael’s Church School but, after almost 3 years, Train the Brain also outgrew those premises and relocated to a bigger space at 285 Cashel Street.

Train the Brain became a charitable trust in October 2015 with the goal to offer services to students from all walks of life. Due to Carina's health, the Board of Trustees made the decision to close the charity in September 2018. With her workload drastically reduced, Carina is  able to work on her own. She is still doing regular assessments and teaches a reduced amount of students.
